Are Muscles Cramping Your Style ?

Image
I often see status’s from people with M.E worried about certain symptoms & It’s the same worries and symptoms I’ve seen time and time again over the years, so I thought I’d  write a few blogs over the coming weeks that will hopefully address and alleviate some of those worries. I’m going to concentrate on one symptom at a time so as not to overwhelm and hopefully it will be more easy to digest and more helpful. The aim of this blog is to  try and reassure, in a fun informative way, but I’m not a doctor, and I don’t know your circumstances, this is purely from my own 24 year journey and experience from living with M.E, so if you’re having any symptoms it’s important to get it checked out. This first   blog looks at  muscle Spasms  and chest pain. Having observed my mum & dad in my childhood years I’d always thought a muscle spasm was just cramp, something people only got in their foot or leg that caused them to hop around th...

Me, M.E & Her.... Mama Chill

Image
Because it’s sometimes been cause for confusion I thought I’d explain why as music artist “Mama Chill”  I combine it  with M.E Campaigning.  Like many of you living with this illness, I was living a relatively normal life before being struck down, and that life included seriously making music amongst other things, & I’d just started getting major record label interest when M.E decided to stroll along and strip me of my health, followed by my job, my social life, my music and just about every damn thing it could strip. Having been told that tha illness would mean any chance of   a music career was well and truly over…. A sense of humour and fight for survival were about tha only two things I had left .   Like most of you with M.E I’m guessing you often have   that   feeling of limboness…..is that even a word? We lose our place in tha world, our sense of direction, our  reasons/motive for going on, we become lost, left behind,...

DREAMS

Image
Dreams…we all have them, not everyone remembers them, but we all have them and if I had a pound for everyone that's said something like  “oh, I just look my dreams up on the internet”   I would be soooo rich I could afford an Uber Super holiday …..Like somewhere in my dreams may be? The fact that people often have such disregard for their dreams drives me absolutely nuts and I’ll explain why.   Just like the varying degrees of   M.E & all its complex symptoms, some of us have them all, others just a few, but the illness is very individual to each of us and it’s the same when it comes to dreams, each persons dream is very unique and individual to them. Dreams are  like a private and personal email that’s sent to your inbox (brain) while you sleep, you have to be in a certain state of consciousness to receive a dream message. I’m sure you’ve never heard someone say, “ You’ll never guess what…I was walking around Asda yesterday afternoon when...

M.E? SORRY I'M NOT FLUFFY

Image
On the phone to a friend yesterday afternoon, I was relaying how from my window I could see a little fox sat in the woods at the back of my house munching on the malted milk biscuits I’d put out , and what a lovely sight it was. “Not everyone would thank-you for that, she said, seeing as some people see foxes as vermin…. a nuisance”   “But it still has to eat, it still has to live, it still has a heart, a soul, it didn’t ask to be born a fox, just as we didn’t ask to be born human. What if you’d been born a fox instead? I asked, who gets to play god and say who and what’s worthy of being loved, worthy of living and what’s not?. Looking at all the appalling things human beings have done since the beginning of time and continue to do to each other and the world as a whole, what makes us so superior?”   There was a pause before she said “You know, I’d never thought of it like that”   You might be wondering what that conversation has got to do with M.E? ...
