Runnin On Empty

It may seem madness that as we start 2025 the DWP have already announced some of its plans to ramp up its intimidation and fear mongering of disabled claimants  and this is going to include using social media. They've stated they aim on hiring  teams of people to search social media for claimants and look for posts so that they can build a case against them. We're not talking organised  criminals fleecing the system of hundreds of thousands here although that's what they are leading the public to believe with one breath,  but in another they state they will be looking at peoples posts to see if they're  doing something they've perhaps said they cant do on a claim form, or any activity that could show they aren't as ill/disabled as they have stated. Now there's a huge problem with this...... Firstly as we all know, people can create false lives for different reasons, photos can be photo shopped,  someone bed-bound that never leaves their room can create...

As some of you will know, I've had Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E) for 28yrs, M.E is a chronic complex physical debilitating illness. I also have other stuff like Fibromyalgia, Osteoporosis, Scoliosis,  hunchback, yada yada...apart from that, as most would say " I'm fine ".  On Sunday 22nd April  2018 I began having breathing problems, it's common with my conditions and impossible to pinpoint what causes what exactly. The muscular weakness seems to lead to inflammation and spasms where the back and chest feel like concrete and there's an inability to take a full breath and then due to the exhaustion it all becomes rather distressing.  I'm usually able to ride this out  but it became worse as the day went on and by the evening, with raging pins and needles shooting up my spine like fire and spreading throughout my body I asked my mother to call an ambulance. Good Morning, well as some of you know, due to changes at the Watford Observer and the constant problems I was having regards publishing the Column each fortnight and just the total lack of  respect. It will now be published here for the time being.  I want to thank you all for your messages of support, its been amazing and humbling, there's been hardly any readers lost and considering it was based on a local news site, it's still very much global, with readers from New Zealand, Canada, U.S.A, China, & Egypt to name a few, so thank-you and I hope you'll  continue to enjoy it?   So, I've still managed to avoid owning a Smartphone, It's not that I'm against technology, I'm against the behaviour it seems to produce in folk.  I'm an old school kinda girl and I can't help but notice our streets and cafes are resembling the living dead, people of all ages with their heads down, no connection to life whatsoever, and with the latest Pokemon game t...

Good Morning, for those that didn't see my announcement on social media last night, unfortunately the Watford Observer have let me down yet again, its become a regular occurrence that I find highly disrespectful and something I'm no longer prepared to accept . In the latest move, having removed the Columnist section of the newspaper for the second time in a month, when I went in last night to proof read the column i'd spent a fortnight working on, they'd also  removed my admin page, which meant I couldn't even go in to retrieve all the work.  But never one to roll over i've decided to stay up tonight  and start putting it all together again  and publish it this morning on here instead and I hope you will still enjoy it?  So, are you ready?........Ironically this week it's about Stress?......
